IX International Jesús Nuñez Print Prize Catalogue front cover, 2014

“The jury of the Jesús Nuñez Print Award has chosen Alicia Candiani as winner of this IX edition for her work Diana (Target 1) made with different techniques such as: etching, Chine collé and punching. The work of this Argentine artist was selected, by the “balance of the image that unites the cartographic with the organic, generating a mystery that captivated the jury, exploring concepts related to identity from the point of view of gender as geopolitical. Organized by the Diputación de A Coruña, the prize is granted with 6,500 euros.

Candiani’s work, together with the others 27 selected prints, will be part of the exhibition organized by the Provincial Council. The jury members were: Jesús Nuñez, president of the CIEC foundation; David Barro López, director of the Luis Seoane Foundation; Nuria Blanco, director of the MoretArt gallery in La Coruña; Marta García-Fajardo, director of the Art Collection of the Jove Foundation and the winner of the previous edition, Luis Rosado, being chaired by the A Coruña provincial vice president Mariel Padín”.
