Santander, Spain
September 1 to 9, 2018

Alicia Candiani was the special Keynote Speaker and International Advisor in the IMPACT 10-Encuentro, the International Multidisciplinary Printmaking Conference that was celebrated in the city of Santander, Spain, from September 1 to 9, 2018. In her role of International Advisor Alicia worked during three years to build the conference international liaisons and to ensure, specially, the Latin American attendance. As keynote speaker she addresses one of the three main topics: “Encounter with other disciplines”. The lecture covered expanded media printmaking practices in the work of individual artists, in Alicia recent experiences as International Randall Chair in Expanded Media as well in the resident artists working in Proyecto´ace under her direction.

The event was attended by 450 delegates from more than 40 countries around the world. This formidable attendance has been increased by the participation, in the open events to the public, of other local and international artists and the public in general. Being a success of attendees and participation IMPACT10 became an international printmaking celebration, a truly “Encuentro” (Encounter) with the diversity of contemporary print media, with international colleagues and with the city of Santander and its people.
