International Randall Chair in Expanded Media

During the Spring Semester 2018 (January to May) Alicia Candiani was appointed as International Randall Chair in Expanded Media in NYSCC at Alfred University, New York, USA. As Randall Chair, she was teaching “Artists Multiples” a seminar for under graduated students , doing mentorship to graduate students and producing her own work. She also developed the Self-Portraits International Project 10th Session which includes professors, graduate and undergraduate students.

This opportunity allowed Candiani to work with new media digital equipment including 3D scanner, laser cut and sublimation on fabric. She did researches on coating different kind of papers for sublimation as well as laser cutting wood blocks to be printed manually in an offset press.

ABOUT THEODORE RANDALL INTERNATIONAL CHAIR IN ART AND DESIGN AT ALFRED UNIVERSITY
The Randall Chair was established in 2007 to honor the legacy of artist and educator Theodore Randall, remembered as the architect of the School of Art and Design at Alfred and a significant artist and organizer in the field of ceramic art. The Randall Chair is open to established, international artists living outside the United States who, by virtue of their stature as experienced artists, will bring diverse cultural insight to the teaching community at Alfred.
