Open Portfolio 6th Edition @ FIG Bilbao is an international program conceived and directed by David Artegoitia, artist and professor of the University of Basque Country in Spain. Through 3 Open Calls along 2019, projects by emerging artists were selected. Among all the projects a group of finalists displays their works during the FIG Bilbao Festival and run for the residencies awards at the CIEC Foundation in Betanzos, Spain. The Open Portfolio Program supports artistic activity of emerging creators, providing a forum and a meeting place for experimentation and knowledge through an exhibition program in a professional environment. It is conceived as a tool to establish the necessary connexion between educational level and professional artistic practice. Emerging artists exploring contemporary printmaking are included in the program which has became an inspiring arena that breaks schemas and explore new ideas and concepts.
