BBVA Contemporary Printmaking Program

The National Calcography and the BBVA Foundation joined forces in 1993 to make possible a fine art publishing project based on the annual selection of ten artists, who are requested to produce an original and unpublished print with the aim to promote contemporary printmaking and its practice within the artistic community.

In 2001 the initiative was readjusted to accommodate foreign artists and other non-exclusive printmaking procedures. In the prints and matrixes of the Contemporary Graphic Art project, career artists converge alongside emerging ones whose presence is remarkable within the circuits of the current printmaking trends.
